What does the plugin do?

The plugin allows you to connect your objects to our OPMS (the standard properties management and product intelligence system on the BIM&CO platform) and to save time by preventing you from re-entering property details. You also have access to automatic translations of BIM&CO properties, access to our SDL, the ability to find an object in one click on BIM&CO, and many other things … best of all, you can do all of this without having to leave the design space of your digital model.

What does the "Add object(s)" button do?

This feature enables you to download an object from the platform and position it in your Revit model.
After you have selected the model, click on the download icon next to the model. This instantly closes the plugin window and allows you to position your object in the model in Revit.

It is only possible to download models that are compatible with your version of Revit.

What does the "Update project" button do?

This plugin feature is used to update a model's objects that have been edited.

If no objects require updating, this screen is displayed in the plugin:



However, if objects have been edited in the platform and a new revision has been created, the plugin displays objects that need to be updated and shows the comment input during revision.



When you open the Revit model, the BIM&CO plugin briefly outlines any updates available for certain objects.

What does the "Send object(s)" button do?

Clicking on this button signals your intention to publish your object on the BIM&CO platform. You will then follow several steps, the last of which provides you with the option of public or private sharing on BIM&CO.

What does the "Update library" button do?

This button checks all your model’s objects in BIM&CO and automatically updates them to ensure your model is as accurate as possible.

What does the "Add properties" button do?

This feature is used to add BIM&CO dictionary properties to a model's objects or an edited family.

When you click on the "Add properties" icon, a window opens enabling you to select objects to which properties may be added.



By clicking on the "Select properties" button, you can display a list of BIM&CO dictionary properties classified by domain.



Using the search field, you can quickly access domains containing searched words.

Simply check the properties that you wish to add to the object(s).

What does the "Object details" button do?

When an object is selected in the model, the "Object details" icon is active.
This is used to display details saved in the platform for the selected object in the plugin.



If you have the appropriate rights, you can also edit the content of the object in this plugin window.

What does the "Classify" button do?

In this step, classifications can be added to objects directly in Revit.
When you click on the "Classify" button in the plugin, a window opens. It is used for selecting objects and linking classes to them.

Classifications

The drop-down menu allows you to select and use classifications taken from international standards that BIM&CO uses as a reference.

Recommended properties

When linking a class to an object, it is also possible to link recommended properties for this class. A list of recommended properties is therefore displayed in a new pane on the right when you click on a class.



It is very easy to link classes to objects. Just select objects using the check boxes next to object names, then double-click on the name of the class.



A blue indicator shows the class linked to each object.


Also display eligible objects
This option is used for displaying or hiding objects that have already been classified. It is very useful for ensuring that you have classified all objects in a model.

Show only current classification
When used with the above option, you can therefore filter classified or unclassified objects as required.

Backing up in objects

Once all links have been established, all that remains is to store these data in the Revit objects. When you click on Apply, a pop-up is displayed offering three options:



Cancel
If you select this option, nothing is backed up in the objects.

No (Apply without adding the recommended properties)
If you select this option, only parameters used to store the selected class are added to objects. Generally, these parameters are a Name and a Code. These parameters are added for each classification added to objects.

Yes (Apply and add the recommended properties)
If this option is selected, all the recommended properties defined when configuring the classification nodes are added in addition to parameters used to store the selected class.

What does the "Display platform" button do?

By clicking on this feature and a selected object in your digital model, you can open the BIM&CO page for this object in the BIM&CO plugin from your workspace.

What does the "Settings" button do?

Login

Click on "Settings" and log in with your BIM&CO account details to use the plugin and its features.




Once you have logged in, the logged-in account is shown in the Settings window.

Connecting LinkedIn and Google accounts

Please note – in order to log in correctly with the plugin, you must first create a BIM&CO account and not simply connect your LinkedIn or Google login.

Environments

Selecting environments

To choose an available environment, just click on it and confirm or double-click on the required environment.

By default, you can access two environments – your Onfly platform and the BIM&CO public platform.



After you have selected the platform and pressed confirm, the plugin displays the content of the selected platform when you click on "**Display platform**".

The Onfly platform

This is your company's platform in which you can manage the dictionary, classifications, and objects to be downloaded.

The public platform

By logging in to the public platform, you can quickly download objects and add objects to this platform. Although the interface is slightly different, the features are nevertheless similar.
